County Executive Dan McCoy’s office said nearly 32,000 people don’t have access to enough food to meet their basic needs.
To help lower those numbers, the county gave $250,000 to the Regional Food Bank and United Way of the Greater Capital Region.
Both organizations were presented with a check at the Blessed Sacrament Food Pantry.
Another $250,000 has been included in next year’s budget.
