Albany fire chases eight from home
Eight people were forced from their home after a fire early Thursday morning in Albany.
Albany firefighters responded to 262 Morton Ave. around 3:30 a.m. Chief Joseph Gregory said it was an electrical fire in the ceiling of a second-floor apartment. It spread to the attic.
The fire was under control in around 20 minutes. There was some damage in that second-floor area.
The cause was electrical, and it is not suspicious, Gregory said.
No one was hurt.
A family of two adults and four children lived on the second floor and two adults lived on the first floor. The Red Cross is helping two adults and four children ages 2, 4, 6, and 11.
