Albany man admits to having child porn

An Albany man has pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography.

Taykwun Smoaks, 32, admitted in U.S. District Court that from February to March 2023, he downloaded more than 600 images, including images of prepubescent minors and images of toddlers being sexually abused, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.

Smoaks faces five to 20 years in prison when sentenced on Dec. 16.
