Albany man facing 8 years in prison for illegal gun possession

An Albany man is facing 8 years in prison after admitting to having a gun.

Michel Myrick, 26, pleaded guilty in Albany County Court on Friday to criminal possession of a weapon.

Myrick was on parole for a 2018 conviction on gun charges. Albany County Sheriff’s deputies found a loaded .22 caliber handgun on Sept. 16 at his home on Clinton Avenue, according to the Albany County District Attorney’s Office.

Myrick is scheduled to be sentenced on May 15.
