Albany man indicted on federal child porn charges
An Albany man is accused of possessing child pornography.
Taykwun Smoaks, 32, was arraigned Friday in U.S. District Court.
From February to March 2023, he distributed, received and possessed child pornography, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said. He also allegedly had pornographic images on his computer and external hard drive.
Smoaks faces at least 5 years and up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000 if convicted.
He also faces up to a life of post-release supervision.
