Albany Police: Schenectady man had gun, crack

A Schenectady man is accused of having a gun and drugs. Russell Piper, 24, was stopped by Albany Police in the area of Second Street and Henry Johnson Boulevard at around 6 p.m. on Monday as part of an ongoing investigation.

A Schenectady man is accused of having a gun and drugs.

Russell Piper, 24, was stopped on an electric bike in the area of Second Street and Henry Johnson Boulevard around 6 p.m. on Monday, as part of an ongoing investigation.

Piper had a loaded 9mm handgun and crack cocaine, police said.

He was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a weapon and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Piper was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court Tuesday morning and sent to Albany County Jail.
