Albany receives big grant to repair and restore city hall
Albany is investing more than $15 million to repair and restore the roof of its historic city hall.
The city announced on Wednesday it received a grant from the National Parks Service worth $1.5 million to help. City officials also received $750,000 from the state’s Environmental Protection Fund.
The repair work is set to start this summer. The city expects the project to be done in the next two to three years, they said.
Corning Park behind Albany City Hall will have some temporary parking and sidewalk closures during construction.
