Albany resident accused of laundering stolen grant funds
An Albany resident is accused of laundering over $850,000 in stolen government grant funds.
Drasana Johnson, 27, allegedly laundered funds that Asjid Parvez stole from a U.S. Department of Agriculture program that helped struggling farmers pay off their loans, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
Parvez was sentenced in May 2024 to 18 months in prison after pleading guilty to stealing the funds.
Johnson faces a maximum of 10 years in prison if convicted.
