Albany Medical College and Albany Med Orthopedics came together with Interfaith Partnership for a shoe and sock giveaway event.

More than 70 pairs of those items were provided to people dealing with homelessness, or to those vulnerably housed.

Orthopedic specialists from Albany Med were there to give foot examinations to anyone who needed one.

A good pair of shoes not only provides physical support, but also restores confidence, dignity and self-worth, they said.
