A new audit from the New York State Comptroller’s Office shows the village of Lake George is lacking many financial records.

That report says between June 2022 and February of this year, the village did not properly maintain accounting records.

The Comptroller’s Office says it cannot accurately determine the financial condition of the village without reliable records.

The report says local leaders have started implementing recommendations from the state.
