A Ballston Spa man has admitted to sexually abusing a child younger than 11.

Justin M. Nielsen, 28, pleaded guilty in Saratoga County Court on Thursday to first-degree sexual abuse.

Police said it happened between November 2020 and December 2020 in the town of Milton. Nielsen was arrested on Jan. 5 of this year.

He agreed to waive formal indictment and enter a plea. The case was on hold for a time as Nielsen underwent a mental health evaluation, according to prosecutors.  

Nielsen is facing a sentence of 6 months in jail and 10 years of probation when sentenced on Dec. 19. He has been in jail since his arrest, so he will likely receive time served.
