Bear cub rescued on Hunter Mountain

A bear cub is recovering, after being rescued in Greene County.

The Department of Environmental Conservation says the cub was found alone, malnourished and dehydrated on Hunter Mountain.

At the time, the cub was about a year old, and weighed just 15 pounds, the DEC said.

The cub is being treated at a rehab center, and will be released when he is healthy enough. It has already gained six pounds, DEC said.
