Bennington County man accused of driving drunk, crashing car
A Bennington County man has been charged with driving under the influence after a crash.
Jonathan Purdy, 31, of Shaftsbury, was driving on Church Street around 8:40 p.m. Monday, when he left the travel lane, and sideswiped a utility pole and mailbox, Vermont State Police said. The vehicle then ended up in a nearby driveway.
Troopers who spoke with Purdy said he seemed impaired.
He was charged with driving under the influence. He was released with a citation and due in Bennington Superior Court on April 15.
