Berkshire County man gets 2 years for soliciting graphic pictures of child

A Berkshire County man was sentenced to two years in prison for using a website to obtain graphic pictures of an 11-year-old child.

Tom Nelson, 38, of Williamstown, used a website called Omegle to try to contact the child to obtain sexual images. The child’s caregiver alerted police to the situation after checking the child’s electronic device, according to the Berkshire County District Attorney’s Office. 

Nelson also did something similar in 2018.

Nelson pleaded guilty to positing a child in the nude, positing/exhibiting a child in a sexual act and dissemination of matter harmful to minors, second offense.

Omegle was shut down in 2023.
