Berkshire Gas reducing bills in March and April to help customers ease on heating costs

Berkshire Gas is reducing gas bills during March and April.

According to our media partners at The Berkshire Eagle, the price reduction comes after growing calls for the state’s Department of Public Utilities to ease up on heating costs.

Berkshire Gas says it would cut residential gas bills for heating customers by 13.1%, and 10% for residential non-heating customers.

The catch is that customers will still have to pay back those savings.

The money will be applied to off-peak bills from May through October.

The gas company is also working to change billing, so bills will not spike during peak months.
