The Albany County Sheriff’s Homeless Improvement Program recently received donations in honor of Women’s History Month.

The Albany County Legislature donated dozens of dress shoes, skirts, slacks, blouses, dresses and feminine hygiene products.

The legislature held an in-person celebration with awards and a panel discussion.

All this is going to the program, which uses a decommissioned wing of the Albany County Jail to provide transitional housing and resources for homeless individuals.
As NewsChannel 13 reported in January, the program expanded to include spaces focusing on women and children.
