A 16-year-old boy has been charged with robbery and grand larceny, arrested after allegedly robbing a 77-year-old woman.

The Albany Police Department responded to reports of a robbery on Chestnut Street June 6, they said.

The 77-year-old told police she was walking on Chestnut near Dove Street early one evening, when she was thrown to the ground and had her purse stolen.

The suspect ran away before cops got there.

The victim was treated for her injuries.

Arraignment was scheduled for Friday in Albany County Family Court.
