Brooklyn man faces drug charges after Northway traffic stop

A Brooklyn man is facing drug charges after a traffic stop.

Troopers stopped a vehicle on Tuesday, Aug. 27 just after 1:15 p.m. on the Northway in Moreau for a traffic violation. The driver was 48-year-old Heriberto Ortiz.

Ortiz had felony-weight narcotics in the vehicle, which police said were packaged in a manner for sale.

He was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and vehicle and traffic violations. Ortiz was arraigned in Moreau Town Court and sent without bail to Saratoga County Jail.
