Fire crews responded to a brush fire in Buskirk that they say was caused by a malfunctioning train wheel.

Firefighters from Pittstown and Buskirk responded to the train trestle by Turnpike Road at about 1:30 p.m. Friday.

Crews say it sparked multiple spot fires along the track, and that the brush fire spread about a mile north from Route 67 to Center Road.
