Clifton Park man pleads guilty in knife threat, police standoff

A Clifton Park man has admitted to holding a person against their will and engaging in a standoff with police.

Nicholas J. Lamboy, 54, pleaded guilty in Saratoga County Court on Friday to two menacing counts.

Lamboy was arrested March 4, after State Police went to a Clifton Park residence. Lamboy was threatening a person with a knife. The victim got away and went to a nearby police station.

When troopers arrived, Lamboy was uncooperative and initially refused to leave, police said. He walked toward troopers with a rifle. He eventually put down the weapon, but resisted arrest.

Lamboy is scheduled to be sentenced on Dec. 4.
