DEC working hard to curb stinky smell in North Albany, Menands
The Department of Environmental Conservation says they're aware of the odor issues impacting North Albany and Menands neighborhoods, and are communicating regularly with the Albany County Water Purification District to resolve the problem.
The Department of Environmental Conservation says they’re aware of the odor issues impacting North Albany and Menands neighborhoods, and are communicating regularly with the Albany County Water Purification District to resolve the problem.
The DEC issued a notice of violation back in May that identified the water district’s north plant as a source of sewage odors, finding it had failed to properly operate and maintain sludge holding tanks.
The DEC said they will continue to monitor and work with officials to make sure those stinky smells go away.
