Demolition firm sues over not getting contract to raze Central Warehouse

A lawsuit has been filed by a demolition company who claims they were passed over to take down the Central Warehouse in Albany.
Jackson Demolition Service is seeking a temporary restraining order to prevent Advance Albany County Alliance from proceeding with a contract by a joint venture of two Long Island firms.
The lawsuit was filed this week in state Supreme Court in Albany County.
The alliance rejected the bid from Jackson, which would have cost less money.
The alliance told NewsChannel 13 at the time that the cost was not the only factor in the decision. There were other factors such as community engagement and safety.
The alliance on Tuesday reiterated the reasoning behind the decision, adding that there were absolutely no political considerations of any kind in the evaluation and selection process.
