State Sen. Pat Fahy and Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara joined disability advocates at the state Capitol on Tuesday.

They want legislators to address what they call decades-long underfunding that has placed pressure on nonprofit providers.

This pressure makes it difficult to deliver the high-quality care that people with disabilities need.

Santabarbara has a personal connection to this. He’s the father of a son with autism.

Fahy is the new chair of the Senate Disabilities Committee.
