A new project initiated by the governor’s office will be revamping DMV technology statewide.
The state will partner with FAST Enterprises, Gov. Kathy Hochul said. The company has already modernized other DMV systems in more than 15 states.
FAST will replace and improve the current 50-year-old technology, which causes delays and system outages.
The new technology will introduce automation and make the DMV more secure, stable and agile, the governor said.
The whole project is expected to take four years to complete.
