People have a chance to win a trip to the Super Bowl by donating much-needed blood.

The Red Cross is ringing in the New Year by kicking off the fourth annual Capital Region Blood Challenge.

There will be a series of blood drives held at the Red Cross chapter at 33 Everett Road.

They will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 2; Friday, Jan. 3, Monday, Jan. 6 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Tuesday, Jan. 7. The goal is to collect more than 142 units of blood.

People can schedule an appointment to donate blood by visiting RedCrossBlood.org and use sponsor code: BloodChallenge or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767). Donate through Jan. 26 and be automatically entered for a chance to win a trip for you and a guest to Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans. It includes travel, hotel, $1,000 gift card, pre-game activities and more.
