East Greenbush names new school superintendent
East Greenbush names Kurtis Kotes as the new superintendent of schools.
The East Greenbush Central School District appointed Dr. Kurtis Kotes as its next superintendent of schools.
He will succeed Superintendent Jeff Simons, who is retiring at the end of the school year.
Kotes currently leads the Goshen Central School District in Orange County.
East Greenbush school officials said during Kotes’ time at Goshen, he has demonstrated a strong focus on collaboration, communication and strategic planning. This includes a new universal pre-K program, a $9 million capital project and new labor contracts.
Kotes was selected after a months-long search. He will start July 1.
