Equal Vision Records opens new headquarters in Albany

Equal Vision Records opens new headquarters in downtown Albany.

A renowned indie punk record label based out of Albany is expanding.

Equal Vision Records cut the ribbon Wednesday at its new space at 400 South Pearl St.

The business was founded in the early 1990s and it is home to acts such as Portugal the Man and Yellow Card.

“Albany’s been good. My people are here. My people either live in Albany area or Saratoga or all around, so it’s been good for hiring and finding people. And I’ve had probably the same core of people for over 20 years, and they’re all in this area, so that’s important to me,” said founder Steve Reddy.

Equal Vision is also home to Merch Now, a one-stop shop for rock and metal shirts and records.
