Firefighter hurt in Gloversville fire

A firefighter was injured in a fire Monday afternoon in the city of Gloversville.
Firefighters from the Gloversville and Johnstown departments responded to 29 North St. just before 1:30 p.m. The fire was on the second floor and spreading to the attic, according to Gloversville Fire Chief Thomas Groff.
Additional units responded to the scene, as firefighters dealt with heavy fire as well as gusting winds, blowing snow and frigid temperatures.
Everyone made it out safely, but one pet died.
The scene was cleared in about four hours.
One firefighter was taken to Nathan Littauer Hospital for treatment.
The Red Cross helped three people.
The cause is under investigation.
