Forest rangers help hurt hiker in Greene County
Forest rangers helped an injured hiker on a trail in Greene County on Saturday.
A 49-year-old woman had head and arm injuries on the Storks Nest Trail in the Windham-Blackhead Range Wilderness in the town of Cairo.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Office called forest rangers just before 4 p.m. Two rangers reached the woman, assessed her, and carried her to the trailhead, according to the Department of Environmental Conservation.
The woman, who lives in the Greene County hamlet of Earle, was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
