The event will take place at 10 a.m. at the school.
The anniversary celebration comes after a few hard years for the district.
“We’re very excited to celebrate this milestone,” said Jessica Smatko, a teacher and school improvement coordinator. “After all, it was only about three years ago that the future of our district was held in limbo with talks of annexation and such. And now our future is fiscally solid. We’ve got new programs here at school. We’re bringing back students that had been in outside placements and we’re excited to bring on a $14.7 million capital improvement project that was approved by our community.”
The capital project includes roof repair, security upgrades, new sidewalks and exterior lighting and playground upgrades and adding air conditioning to parts of the building.
The celebration will include a display of the capital project as well as artifacts from the 1920s construction of the high school.
All students in prekindergarten through sixth grade will receive free books. Students in grades seven through 12 can enter a raffle for a $25 gift card.
There will also be cake and other treats.
