Gillibrand calls on EPA to clean up Hudson River
Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand is calling on the EPA to clean up the forever chemicals in the Hudson River.
General Electric was permitted to dump chemicals in the river for 30 years from 1947 to 1977. The river was dredged to clean it up but more still needs to be done, Gillibrand said.
It is especially important because the cleanup goals set in 2002 have not yet been reached, she said.
