This comes as she is criticizing the Trump administration’s massive cuts to funding for food banks.

The cuts could have a devastating effect on families, communities, and local economies, Gillibrand said.

Food banks in New York state get tens of millions of dollars’ worth of food through federal programs that have now been slashed.

Seventy-two days into President Donald Trump’s presidency, grocery prices are sky high, with no sign of improvement on the horizon, Gillibrand said.

She is calling on the Trump administration to provide answers on their plans to keep Americans from going hungry.
