The newly renovated Ray Wemple Memorial Ice Rink in Glenville has been unveiled.

The renovation includes four new locker rooms, an additional changing room, expanded restrooms, a larger front entrance and a new activities room.

County officials said the updates reflect Schenectady County’s commitment to provide top-notch spaces for the community to come together.

The facility has been renamed after Wemple, who served in various roles with Schenectady Police, the Carman Volunteer Fire Department, and the Schenectady County Emergency 911 director.

He was also dedicated to the Schenectady Youth Hockey Association, where he had an impact on young athletes and their families.
