The Green Island Union Free School District will now pay tuition to Watervliet for more than 50 students, costing $400,000 a year for the next five years.
School leaders say the goal is to provide access to educational opportunities that are not currently available to high schoolers in Green Island.
That includes a wider choice of electives, college-level and Advanced Placement courses, and more extracurriculars.
