Greene County is grieving over the unexpected loss of one of its law enforcement leaders.

The Sheriff’s Office announced Undersheriff Michael Overbaugh passed away on Wednesday.

He was a Navy veteran, a retired lieutenant, and a police officer with the Town of Hunter.

He also served as the Chief of the Kiskatom Fire Department.

A service for the Undersheriff will be held on Monday, February 17 in the Town of Hudson.

The public is invited to come pay their respects from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the FASNY Fireman’s Home on Harry Howard Avenue.
