Greenfield Center native takes over Air National Guard’s 109th Airlift Wing
A Saratoga County man is now in command of the Air National Guard's 109th Airlift Wing. New York Air National Colonel Robert Donaldson took command of the wing during a ceremony at Stratton Air National Guard Base in Scotia.
A Saratoga County man is now in command of the Air National Guard’s 109th Airlift Wing.
New York Air National Colonel Robert Donaldson took command of the wing during a ceremony at Stratton Air National Guard Base in Scotia.
Donaldson is from Greenfield Center. He graduated from Union College and Albany Law School.
Donaldson first enlisted in the wing 33 years ago. He has flown nearly 2,000 hours as an LC-130 navigator.
Along with missions to Greenland and Iceland, he served at Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan.
Donaldson replaced Colonel Christian Sander of Lake George, who commanded the wing since 2020.
