Hochul announces $646M grant to train health care workers
Gov. Kathy Hochul announced on Thursday a $646 million grant to recruit and train thousands of health care workers.
This will all be implemented over the course of the next three years. The governor said this is part of an effort to increase staff numbers – and strengthen the already existing workforce, while working in tandem with organized labor.

“The health of every New Yorker depends on a strong, stable, and equitable health care system, and health care workers are its very foundation,” said Hochul in a statement. “This investment allows us to continue to retain and grow our health care workforce and ensure we deliver the highest quality health care for New Yorkers.”
