Hudson Falls Police: Slashing was not random attack
Police say slashing incident in Hudson Falls may not have happened
A woman who told Hudson Falls police that she was attacked by a man after she refused to give him a second cigarette was not being completely truthful, according to authorities.
Officers responded to Oak Street on May 27 for a report of a woman with a cut to her arm. She told police that after she told him she did not have another cigarette to give him, he swung his hand in her direction and cut her with a sharp object.
Police had issued a search for a suspect.
After an investigation, Hudson Falls Police said that the incident did not happen as described.
The attack was not random and there is no danger to the public.
