Hudson man allegedly drove drunk, caused three-vehicle crash in Vermont

A Hudson man is accused of driving drunk and causing a three-vehicle crash in Vermont.

It happened on Nov. 25 just after 12:30 p.m. Vermont State Police said Peter Guernsey, 45, was driving his truck on Route 7 south of Hartsboro Road in the town of Wallingford. He crossed the double yellow line and crashed into a box truck.

Guernsey then continued in the wrong lane and crashed into a second vehicle, which caused that vehicle to roll on its passenger side down an embankment, police said.

Guernsey had minor injuries and was taken to Rutland Regional Medical Center for evaluation. He was charged with driving under the influence and other charges are pending.

The extent of the injuries to the other drivers was not available.
