Man accused of purposely hitting woman with car near Westgate Plaza

A Schenectady man hit someone with a car on purpose, police said.

It happened around 11:30 Friday morning near Westgate Plaza in Albany.

The 29-year-old victim was taken to Albany Medical Center with a broken leg and internal injuries.

A second person jumped out of the way to avoid being hit.

Trevaughn Haggarty was charged with assault and attempted assault. He was sent to Albany County Jail.

This was part of an ongoing domestic dispute, police said.
