Man accused of taking over $4,000 from Walmart during five-hour visit

A man is accused of stealing more than $4,000 from the Cobleskill Walmart after spending five hours in the store.

State Police said Steven G. Warner, 36, of Endicott, entered the store on Dec. 31 around 3 p.m. and stayed there until 8:10 p.m. Warner allegedly left the store without paying for the merchandise.

Warner then went to the Walmart in Oneonta and stole items, police said. The store called to report the theft in progress. Troopers found the item in his vehicle, according to investigators.

Warner was charged with grand larceny, obstructing governmental administration and criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was arraigned in Cobleskill Town Court and released on his own recognizance.
