Man charged with DWI after train hits car in Voorheesville
A Voorheesville man is facing DWI charges, after his car was hit by a train last night.
Kyle Jacobson, 38, was driving drunk when a train crashed into the Honda he was driving Wednesday around 8:20 p.m. in Voorheesville, according to the Albany County Sheriff’s Office. The accident happened in the area of North Main and Grove Streets.
The sheriff’s office found Jacobson in the driver’s seat of the Honda when they arrived after the crash, investigators said. He was given a field sobriety test after showing signs of intoxication.
A chemical test revealed Jacobson was under the influence of alcohol, investigators said.
Video shared on social media allegedly shows the dramatic moment when the Honda Jacobson was driving got hit by the train.
Jacobson was arrested and is scheduled to appear in New Scotland Town Court on March 7.
