Man gets probation in fatal Berkshire County crash
The driver in a rollover crash in Berkshire County that killed a man has been sentenced to probation and has lost his license.
Gilbert Franciapena pleaded guilty in Berkshire Superior Court to motor vehicle homicide for the crash that happened on April 20, 2023 on the Massachusetts Turnpike.

Franciapena was part of a drywall crew that was driving in West Stockbridge, when the SUV flipped, according to NewsChannel 13’s media partners at The Berkshire Eagle. The crew was traveling to a drywall job in Beckett.
Franciapena and three of the other passengers were taken to the hospital for their injuries.
Passenger Marco Tulio Rivera Claros, 38, was thrown from the vehicle, and died on scene.
Franciapena also was sentenced to 100 hours of community service.
