Man with Northumberland ties gets up to 6 years in prison for having sex with minor
A former Saratoga County man was sentenced on Monday to up to 6 years in prison for having sex with a minor.
Siatar K. Creech, 38, formerly of Northumberland, previously pleaded guilty in Saratoga County Court to third-degree rape and use of a child in a sexual performance.
Creech had sex with a child under the age of 17 in the town of Moreau in July 2022, according to prosecutors.
Creech admitted to the crime on July 26. This came one day after he declined to enter a plea because there was a NewsChannel 13 camera present. The judge denied a media request for court coverage for the following day and Creech entered the plea.
Creech was sentenced to 2 to 6 years in prison on the use of a child in a sexual performance charge and 3 ½ years in prison on the rape charge. They will run consecutively, so he will spend at least 5 ½ years in prison.
