NewsChannel 13 first introduced you to Kris Leland last fall. The Albany man made a 30-day commitment to pick up trash along local streets. That 30 days turned into more than two months and several bags of trash.

Leland mostly focuses on downtown Albany, around New Scotland Avenue. Many people have joined his journey after getting the word out on social media.

He’s encouraging people to make a difference in their neighborhoods.

In honor of Earth Day, stop by Beverwyck Park this Sunday, April 27, and you can walk to clean up neighborhoods.

Gloves, trash bags, and refreshments will be provided. It all starts at 2 p.m.

Hear Leland’s advice to people who might be on the fence, by watching the video of Caitlin Irla’s story.
