Montgomery County Jail inmate accused of having fentanyl in cell

An inmate at Montgomery County Jail is accused of having fentanyl in his cell.

Correction officers found the drug in the cell of Israel J. Ruiz, 34, during a search on March 30, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

Ruiz was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and promoting prison contraband. He is scheduled to appear in Glen Town Court at a later date.
