Montgomery Co. Sheriff’s Office warns of social media scams
Montgomery Co. Sheriff's Office warns of social media scams that target people look like it is legitimate.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is warning people about social media scams in a Facebook post.
The office said it’s seeing scams that seem urgent and ask targets to share them quickly.
To avoid these types of scams, the office says to always check the source. If a post looks like it should be official but is not on a local law enforcement’s page, double check if it’s real or not.
When in doubt, the office says to reach out to your local police department.
