New $75k grant to help Schenectady families
A new grant will help invest in the future of Schenectady families.
Assemblyman Phil Steck announced Wednesday a $75,000 grant will help fund and support Young Parents United Inc.
The program helps young families get necessary support and build better futures.
Steck said he can identify with the struggles young families can face.
“I was raising my children in the town of Colonie with a lot more resources than some of the people who are served by this organization,” said Steck. “So I deeply appreciate if it was difficult sometimes for me as a parent, it’s doubly difficult with less resources.”
The money will help with food and basic needs, baby supplies, educational programs, and more.
