New deputy sheriffs added to Albany County force

Albany County's sheriff added 19 deputy sheriff recruits to the law enforcement ranks on Friday. These recruits will be joined by an additional 10 recruits from Capital Region sheriff's offices and police departments to attend the Sheriff's Public Safety Training Institute's six-month-long law enforcement academy in Clarksville.

Law enforcement has recently been dealing with several violent acts in Albany.
