A new firefighter in Menands is continuing a family tradition. 

The Menands Fire Department has announced that Ryan Wroblewski has joined their ranks.

His family has deep ties to the fire service. His grandfather, Richard Hyatt, and Richard’s brother John Hyatt were longtime members.

Dick was a past chief. Ryan’s mother is also an active member of the auxiliary.

The department said it is pleased to see the next generation continue the tradition of service and has no doubt that Ryan will be a great asset.
